1. Contamination Control Plan

1.1. General lab area garbing guide:

• Shoes cover required
• Gloves required if working with optics

1.2. Bake & Clean / Cleanroom garbing guide:

2. Garb
3. Facemask
4. Hairnet
5. Gloves ( 2 layers are required for final production design handling)

1.3. Particles counting:

• Particles counting should be conducted before and after working in the clean room (only at location of working)
• Particles counting to verify class 5 ISO should be done on weekly basis at 5 locations inside the cleanroom
• To verify that the cleanroom is indeed class 5 ISO, refer to ISO standard documents ISO 14644

2. Clean and Bake Procedure

2.1. Air oven bake

• Following procedure as detailed in E050161
• Items required:
  • Methanol
  • Lint-free cleanroom wipes (Vectra alpha 10)
• General procedure:
  • Wipes the interior twice
  • Bake for 12 hours at 120 deg C
  • Increase to 200 deg C and bake for 48 hours
  • Let oven cool and clean
  • Bake over night at just below oven's maximum operating temperature

2.2. Clean and bake components:

• For cleaning and baking of components of different materials, refer to LIGO's E960022
• Always make sure all components in each batch are of the same material.
• Inspect parts first to see if rough cleaning required (wiped with isopropanol, ultrasonic clean with tap water and detergents)
• If parts are already clean, proceed to perform precision cleaning (DI water and detergents)
• Record clean and bake data to the following Clean and Bake Database
