Subject: COMSOL modeling for the ring heater 
I’ve set up the base COMSOL model for Cosmic Explorer ITM optics (450 mm diameter × 300 mm thickness). I implemented the absorbed heat power in the Heat Transfer module—using 1 W of self-heating and an exaggerated 150 W ring heater power to make the initial thermal gradients easily visible. Next, I need to couple the Solid Mechanics physics to compute front-surface thermal expansion, then run a parametric sweep on the ring heater power to find the value that minimizes total thermal distortion."
